Winsor & Newton offers a variety of mediums to achieve all the techniques and styles of traditional oil colors with its Artisan Water-Mixable Oils. Fast Drying Medium — Fast Drying Medium not only improves flow and speeds drying time, but also increases gloss and transparency, making it excellent for glazing work. Impasto Medium — This medium thickens the paint for impasto and texturing, and speeds drying time. Linseed Oil — Linseed Oil reduces consistency, improves flow, and increases gloss and transparency. Painting Medium — This medium thins consistency and improves flow. Stand Oil — Stand Oil is a slow drying medium that improves flow and leveling, making it excellent for use when glazing. Note — Artisan Oil Painting Mediums are not to be used with traditional oil colors. As with traditional oils, it is always best to choose one medium and use that throughout the whole painting. |
